BOSTON - David Ortizs career with the Boston Red Sox has moved into elite territory. Ortiz hit a pair of two-run homers, including his 400th shot in a Red Sox uniform, and drove in a career high-tying six runs to power Boston past the Houston Astros 10-7 on Saturday night. Big Papi joined Hall of Famers Ted Williams and Carl Yastrzemski as the only players to hit 400 homers while playing with the Red Sox. Ortiz did it with his drive into the first row of the centre-field seats in the third inning. "Its an honour to be mentioned with those legends that were with the Red Sox," he said. "When you come to this organization to play, youre not expecting to be mentioned with those guys." The left-handed slugger has joined a class that features two of the greatest players to wear a Boston uniform. "Hes in rare company with those two other guys hes linked to," Red Sox manager John Farrell said. After his 400th, Ortiz hooked his other homer around the Pesky Pole in right field in the fifth. He has 459 home runs in his career, which started with Minnesota. He then lined a two-run double into the gap in front of the Green Monster in the eighth. He left to a standing ovation for a pinch-runner, tipping his helmet as the crowd gave him a curtain call. "David Ortiz is a Hall of Famer. Hes about as good as it gets in this game," Astros manager Bo Porter said. Williams hit 521 homers, and Yaz had 452. Both spent their entire careers with the Red Sox. Chris Carter hit a solo homer and added a sacrifice fly for the Astros, who lost for the fifth time in seven games. A day earlier, Houston earned the franchises first win in Fenway Park after going 0-8. The Red Sox trailed 6-3 before scoring four in the sixth. Ortizs second homer off starter Brad Peacock sliced it to 6-5, and Daniel Navas sacrifice fly tied it. Jackie Bradley Jr. had a sacrifice fly off Josh Fields (2-6) to push Boston ahead. Alex Wilson (1-0) earned the victory with 2 1-3 hitless innings. Koji Uehara gave up a solo homer to Jason Castro and worked the ninth in a non-save situation. The Astros built a 5-1 lead against Rubby De La Rosa by scoring two in the first, one in the second and two in the third. Leading 3-1, Gregorio Petit had a two-run double. After Ortizs first homer cut Houstons lead to 5-3, Carter homered over the Monster in the fourth. "One of the best players in baseball," Peacock said of Ortiz. "The first homer, it was a hanging changeup, bad 0-2 pitch, and he just did what hes supposed to do with it." STEADY PAPI Ortiz has 91 RBIs, giving him at least 90 for the 10th time in 12 seasons with the Red Sox. One other he finished with 89, and in 2012 he had 60 while played just a little over half of an injury-plagued season. It was his 45th career multihomer game and fourth this season. FENWAY SUCCESS RUNS OUT De La Rosa had allowed three or fewer runs in each of his Fenway starts this season — and one or none three times. He gave up six on nine hits in just four innings. TRAINERS ROOM Astros: Porter said OF Alex Presley (strained right oblique) will be shut down for "seven to 10 days" after feeling discomfort during his minor league rehabilitation assignment at Tri-City of the New York-Penn League. Porter also said LHP Darin Downs, dealing with oblique soreness but still on the active roster, will "need a couple of more days." Red Sox: 2B Dustin Pedroia was back in the lineup after leaving Fridays game after fouling a ball off his right foot. OF-1B Allen Craig, on the DL with a sprained left foot, is expected to start a rehab assignment, beginning Monday with Triple-A Pawtucket. He did some running during batting practice with a member of the teams medical staff watching. C David Ross (plantar fasciitis) is expected to be activated early next week. UP NEXT RHP Collin McHugh (5-9, 3.08 ERA) is scheduled for Houston on Sunday. RHP Joe Kelly (0-0, 2.0Cool is slated to make his Fenway debut with the Red Sox. He was acquired at the trade deadline from St. Louis along with Craig for RHP John Lackey. Honoured The Red Sox had a moment to honour Maj. Gen. Harold "Harry" J. Greene, who was killed in Afghanistan earlier this month. He was born in Boston and was a big Red Sox rooter. His family wore Red Sox jerseys and stood on top of the dugout when his picture was shown on the centre-field scoreboard after the fifth inning. They received a standing ovation. Greene, the highest-ranking U.S. military officer killed in combat since the Vietnam War, was buried with full honours Thursday at Arlington National Cemetery. Boris Diaw Jersey . The England international had both goals in TFCs season-opening 2-1 win over the Seattle Sounders on Saturday. Josh Jackson Jersey . Craig Ronaldsons coolly-struck conversion of Bundee Akis 67th-minute try proved to be the decisive score as Toulouse fell to a fifth successive away defeat in Europe for the first time in their history. The French giants raw power saw them open up a 21-11 interval lead, Sebastien Bezys three early scrum penalties topped up by tries from Yann David and Jean-Marc Doussain. Bundee Akis performance helped Connacht seal the win In between, Connacht had recovered from their sluggish start to set up Ireland prospect Niyi Adeolokuns fourth try of the season, with Jack Carty also kicking two penalties.Back in Europes top tier for the first time since 2013/14, the Westerners went on to punish tiring Toulouse with back-to-back tries from full-back Tiernan OHalloran and the talismanic Aki, whose centre partner Ronaldson nailed the all-important conversion. After a superb scrummaging display against Clermont Auvergne last week, Toulouse brought that set-piece strength to Galway with Bezy rewarding his forwards with three penalty goals inside 13 minutes. Toby Flood was full of praise for Connachts comeback as they grabbeed a late win Two lineout steals from Andrew Browne and Ultan Dillane got Connacht firing towards the end of the first quarter, Cian Kelleher sidestepping through before prop Finlay Bealham was stopped short of the line.dddddddddddd. Watch NOW TV Watch Sky Sports for just ?£6.99. No contract. Pat Lams men were over just a couple of minutes later, Dillanes leap setting up a thrilling backline move spearheaded by Ronaldson and Aki. Possession was retained and winger Adeolokun was sent over in the right corner. Yann David barges over for Toulouses first try Carty missed the difficult conversion but nailed a right-sided penalty in the 25th minute, and the home pack went close to scoring from a maul before Carty knocked over his second successful kick for 11-9.Bezy sent a difficult long-range strike wide of the posts after Connacht tighthead Conor Carey was warned for his angle of scrummaging. He also missed the conversion of Davids 34th-minute try, the strongly-built centre scoring in the left corner despite the presence of three Connacht defenders.Even better followed two minutes later for the small pocket of visiting fans, Toulouses offloads sticking and a free-flowing move full of flair ending with fly-half Doussain driving in under the posts. Jean-Marc Doussain scores Toulouses second try Having turned down three points on the stroke of half-time, Connacht blundered at the ensuing lineout and Carty also missed the first place-kick of the second half. The gap remained at 10 points after an equally poor kick from Bezy at the other end. The PRO12 champions, though, found another gear closing in on the hour mark, OHalloran cutting inside Gael Fickou to finish off Cartys long pass.Although the tough conversion proved beyond Carty, OHalloran, Kelleher and Ronaldson all continued to bubble with intent in the backline. They were aided by the timely impact off the bench of Kieran Marmion - the man-of-the-match from Connachts famous 2013 win in Toulouse - and the strong-carrying Sean OBrien. In a grandstand finish, Connacht kept grinding their way up into the Toulouse 22. Ugo Molas side were looking sluggish and Aki surged over thanks to a big hand-off on Talalelei Gray. The raucous home crowd erupted when Ronaldson curled over a peach of a conversion and with Toulouses error count increasing and a vital 73rd-minute scrum holding firm for Connacht, they deservedly held on in breathless fashion. You can watch Liverpool v Man Utd, plus Englands tour of Bangladesh and the British Masters on Sky Sports.
