The idea here is to build a generic Big Board reflecting the community’s view of this year’s draft class regardless of the Jets’ (or any other team’s) particular needs. So for instance, the Jets do not need a QB this year, but that should not prevent you from placing a QB high on the Big Board. Each day we will close the previous day’s poll and the candidate with the most votes will be added to the GGN Big Board. In the event of a tie vote the tie will be broken by surname in alphabetical order. By the time the draft rolls around we should have enough players on our Big Board to cover two rounds of the draft. In the event I have made an egregious omission and a name you think should be on the poll is not there you can write in candidates in the comments section. If a player gets support in the comments section I’ll add him to the next day’s poll.Try not to get overly frustrated if your guy isn’t being voted to the top of the board. We all have different views and what we’re looking for here is a composite of the best players in the community’s collective mind. Your views may or may not coincide with the community’s, and either way that’s OK.So let’s get to it. Today we vote for the #45 prospect on the 2019 crowd sourced GGN Big Board. Who will it be? Vote early, vote often, and let’s hear who you think are the best players in this draft. In the lead up to the NFL Draft, many analysts put together a big board. This their ranking of the prospects. New,10commentsEDTShareTweetShareShareHow did the Jets do in the 2019 NFL Draft vs. Dan Kadar’s big board? Jason Getz-USA TODAY SportsIn the lead up to the NFL Draft, many analysts put together a big board. This their ranking of the prospects. Over the next few days, I want to take a look at various big boards and compare them to the slots in the NFL Draft where the Jets made their picks.Today we continue by looking at the big board of my SB Nation colleague Dan Kadar. As a reminder, none of these will definitely prove the Jets or an analyst are right or wrong. By doing a number of these, we will be able to see whether a consensus believes the Jets got good value from their picks.Quinnen Williams (Jets pick: 3; Kadar’s rank: 2) +1 valueYet another pundit gives the Williams pick a good mark.Jachai Polite (Jets pick: 68; Kadar’s rank: 49) +19 valueIt seems like everybody dropped Polite due to his poor predraft process. Some dropped him a little. Others dropped him a lot. Kadar falls into the dropped him a little camp, giving the Jets a nice value score for taking him in the early third round.Chuma Edoga (Jets pick: 92; Kadar’s rank: 147) -55 valueKadar’s big board is strikingly low on Edoga.Trevon Wesco (Jets pick: 121; Kadar’s rank: 127) -6 valueThat’s really close to proper value for a fourth round pick. If you adhere this particular big board, the Jets played the fourth round correctly, dropping down twice to improve their position in later rounds and taking their player at the right spot on the board.Blake Cashman (Jets pick: 157; Kadar’s rank: 112) +45 valueAnother big board thinks the Jets got really nice value with this pick.Blessaun Austin (Jets pick: 196; Kadar’s rank: N/A) -4(+) valueUnlike some of the other big boards we have examined, Kadar’s only went up to 200 players. Austin didn’t make the cut.Previous entries:Mel KiperPro Football FocusThe Draft NetworkCBS Sports
